IT ManagerPosition is ONSITE in Spartanburg, SCLocation: Spartanburg, SC Department: Information Technology Reports To: VP of People & Administration Job Type: Full-Time Onsite: Monday-Thursday 7:00-5:00, Friday 7:00-12:00, plus after-hours availability for maintenance windows and escalations Benefits: Medical & Dental, Retirement, Life Insurance, Paid Holidays and Time offPosition Summary: The Agency is hiring an IT Manager to own technology for 250+ employees across 5 locations. You'll inherit a setup that is co-managed in house and currently runs largely through an external managed service provider. Part of this role is to turn it into something more deliberate: build an internal team, manage an MSP scoped to what it genuinely does best, standardize infrastructure across sites, and the key systems talking to each other. This is a hands-on role, you'll be setting direction and also doing the work.Key Responsibilities:Build and lead the internal IT functionDefine the IT Support Specialist role, run the hire, and onboard themSet priorities, standards, and escalation paths for the internal teamDecide what work belongs in-house versus with the MSP, and rescope the MSP contract as internal capability growsDevelop future team membersEnd-user support and service qualityOwn the user experience of IT across all sites: ticket volume, resolution times, recurring issues, customer satisfactionEstablish clear intake and triage between the internal team and the MSPEliminate root causes behind repeat tickets rather than resolving them fasterStandardize onboarding/offboarding, device provisioning, and documentation across locationsRoutinely be present at each site to understand needs and how each one operatesManage all software and software licensing.Manage hardware and mobile devices, including laptops, iPads, cell phones, tv's, NovoConnects, firewalls, servers, access points, protectors, and WiFi hot spotsReducing/eliminating downtime.MSP and vendor managementHold the MSP accountable through defined SLAs and regular service reviewsServe as the escalation point when the MSP's process isn't workingManage contracts, renewals, and licensingInfrastructure and cloud migrationMaintain infrastructure to a common standard including network, connectivity, endpoints, identityOwn backup, disaster recovery, and continuity planningPlan capacity and hardware lifecyclesMitigate security risksAI and systems integrationMap and improve Renfrow's core systems integration (Vista, iSolved, FastPipe, Bluebeam)Design and deliver necessary integrations; bring solutions and recommendationsEvaluate and help pilot AI tooling through assessment of cost, data privacy, and productivity gainSet practical AI governance: acceptable use, data handling, and where company information should and shouldn't goWork Environment:Work is performed in both an office setting and at active construction sites. The Project Manager must be able to visit job sites, navigate uneven terrain, and observe field conditions.Qualifications: Required7+ years in IT, including experience owning a function or major programSome level of management experienceExperience managing an MSP or outsourced providerMulti-site infrastructure experience: networking, identity, endpoint management across locationsHands-on cloud migration experienceSystems integration experience; APIs, data mapping, and an understanding of why integrations failAbility to prioritize and explain solutions to non-technical leadershipPreferredPractical experience deploying AI tooling in a business settingSecurity and compliance depth ( [relevant framework] )Certifications: IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)What Success Looks LikeFirst 90 days: inventory of systems, sites, licenses, and vendor contracts complete; MSP performance assessed against current SLAs; top risks documented for leadership; support role scoped and posted. Existing projects reviewed and recommendations for next steps communicated.
