Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role preferred License: Virginia license accepted, pending licenses accepted Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: Cross posting for clinical review and auto offer. We have a 30-bed Neurosurgery and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery acute care unit. Patient ratio is 1:4 during nights. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed. Can offer 36 or 48 hours weekly. Every other weekend is required, with two out of three winter holidays needed. Time off cannot be approved for Christmas. Can approve a maximum of 40 hours for time off. Must adhere to floating policies. Candidates can submit with a pending license. Must possess Epic experience. Unit Details: Daily census averages 30 patients. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and social services. Patient diagnoses may include stroke, general neurology, and various brain and spine surgeries. Discharges range from 8 to 10 daily, with equal admissions from PACU, ED, and ICU. The motto of the unit is teamwork, compassion, excellence, every day. Special equipment used includes remote telemetry, EEG, lumbar drains, and ICP monitoring.
